Disadvantages of using 'ancient' dSLRs?

HI,

Specifically, the Nikon D1x/h or D2x/hYes, they have lower MP ratings, but with top notch glass, this shouldn't be an issue, or will it?These were made for 'pros' and cost a fortune when released (admittedly, the time frames they were released is eons ago, 2001-2005 era) but all their lovely features don't go away just because the camera is old.So, assuming top quality glass, for an amateur, why not one of these over a, say, d40-d80?

Please help.
